old green pigment

the old green pigment is an oxide of chromium discovered by a chemist named Pannetier in the 19th century. This pigment gives an English green or light wagon color. Pigment compatible with all techniques and binders. It is a very opaque and very solid earthy green that I particularly recommend in the fresco technique.

the old green pigment is an oxide of chromium discovered by a chemist named Pannetier in the 19th century. This pigment gives an English green or light wagon color. Pigment compatible with all techniques and binders. It is a very opaque and very solid earthy green that I particularly recommend in the fresco technique. Also suitable in the icon technique. This pigment is the ideal pigment to use in the decorations of the Middle Ages because this color is one of the only greens used at the time. This pigment can be diluted well with water with a little black soap.
